Mint Medical closely collaborates with the German Cancer Research Center, division of medical and biological informatics (MBI).
Research at the MBI aims at improving diagnostic methods and treatment planning based on imaging technologies such as computer tomography, magnetic resonance tomography, and ultrasound. To this end, we are translating two-dimensional images into interactive three- or four-dimensional visualizations.
The present focus of our work is liver surgery planning and the development of diagnostic methods for heart disease. In the process, we are closely collaborating with the Heidelberg University Clinics and various engineering institutes.
To facilitate integration of different kinds of imaging software into clinical practice, we are developing special communication interfaces and applications for telemedicine.
Another project group of our division is developing computer-assisted simulation methods for visualizing cell growth and differentiation, e.g., during organ development.
